I have been teaching Bellydance in Leamington Spa since 2004 and dancing for 11 years.
I am Further Adult Education, FAETC (Warwickshire College) qualified and am CRB checked. I am continuing my own development by taking IDTA bellydance examinations.
Over the years, I have adapted my dancing style and teaching with an emphasis on making it a fun experience.
Working with the Nikki Jay Academy of Dance, my students are in the fortunate position of being ale to take the IDTA bellydance medal exams. As a teacher, I have the ongoing support and guidance from a professionally recognised Dance School.
I had an interest in bellydance for a long time and started it as a form of physiotherapy for a lower spinal condition I had much encouragement from my Turkish in-laws. Teaching and dancing has enabled me to share this wonderful form of dance with students and friends alike.
I enjoy supporting my dance-troupe at various Haflas and performances and have undertaken a number of promotional events to highlight the joys of bellydance. I occasionally perform solo pieces.
I have been inspired by Val Rainbows bubbly approach to dance, Lynne Chapmans beautiful fusion style and Lorna Gows fantastic ability to captivate an audience from start to finish. I continuously seek innovative ways to encourage women to learn to dance and express themselves joyfully through bellydance.
